Why hello there! I've got a few new readers, which is dope. Hi new readers! A special shout out to the new reader who has their own blog but doesn't want to be mentioned, and look at that I lied and I'm mentioning. That's how I roll.
So, that was enthusiastic. A little bit outside my norm. Don't worry, here comes the shitstorm (hey, that rhymes).
I cried at work today. I am so overwhelmed right now what with doing the equivalent of four jobs and not getting to do what I was actually hired to do. I think the emotions didn't have anywhere else to go, so they came out my eyes. The palpable unhappiness over my work situation is starting to show. Apparently, I've gotten thin enough looking that Mom is concerned. I don't blame her. I have a bad habit of avoiding food when stressed. That's how you get to be 95 pounds in your senior year of college. Now, other people are starting to notice as well.
Quoth my hairdresser:
"You've gotten thinner since I've seen you last"
"I have?"
"Yeah, you look thin & a little tired. But...you know...not in a bad way."
"Oh thanks, I thought you were suggesting I look like the Crypt Keeper."
And I do look like the Crypt Keeper. I look tired. I am tired. I am so much more than just physically fatigued. I am emotionally exhausted. I have no idea how to claw my way out of this. I'm usually so good at coming up with solutions for things and I feel so inadequate because I simply do not know how to fix this.
Also, my refinance, which at one point was funny, has become an enormous disaster; spearheaded by a completely incompetent broker. And I just cannot deal.
So....I got that going for me. Since I'd like to close on a high: my beloved Hawks have made it through the first round and will be proceeding to Vancouver tomorrow. I have tickets to Game 6 of this round and the faboo Daisy will be accompanying me. Go Hawks!
And thanks to all ya'll out there for listening. It means more to me than I can say right now.

Smorgasbord
So, a little bit of everything...
First things first. Last night Daisy & The Enabler and lil ol' me got to experience the joy that is the Blackhawks beating the pants off of our neighbors to the north. May our boys carry that momentum to Calgary with them because I'm not sure I can handle the anxiety that would come with a Game 7 (and since Detroit is already through, it's safe to root for the Chi now).
My imaginary husband's playoff beard is coming along nicely, but he needs a bit more time so....let's make it to round 2!!!!
Secondly, I'm SURE that everyone has been wondering what has become of the Doc (no doubt it has been keeping ya'll up at night).
I'm still "seeing" her once a month and we're working through some issues. Namely the place that shall not be blogged about. As most of you know, I have a less than perfect work environment. However, in light of everything that is occurring around us, it looks as though I'm there for the foreseeable future.
This poses a problem. The Doc and I are working on what I like to call the Triage. As in, if nothing will improve until I leave; how do we just stop the bleeding? Sooooo...in my "homework", here's what I've come up with:
I have to start leaving for lunch. Every day, I need to figure out a way to get myself a few moments of solace (or serenity, silence whatever).
I need to focus on other parts of my life. I'm going to start volunteering my time to some PR efforts because it's good for me and I need a bit more heft to my resume.
There are some more, but for the time being I'm keeping them to myself.
So, my dear readers (all 7 of you). Are there any little tricks you have to get yourself through a stressful day?
And so my pets, it's on to Game 6...let's all have a great week!

Goodnight Pussycat...
This makes me so sad. I've always loved Bea, and as a fellow mouthy, ballsy (and hell, slightly grouchy) woman; this is a big loss for the team.

"I'm riddled with anxiety"
Whew....The adrenaline from last night's game has finally left my body. Hockey is like the bestest sport ever! Except for the massive anxiety filled moments (and sometimes whole periods) before the Hawks score.
It was an awesome game. Except for the drunk college kids who fell on top of Pop's girlfriend. Who were then promptly removed by security. People, this was DURING the national anthem!!! I mean, come on.
Since Lord Stanley's Cup is like the biggest thing in my life right now (methinks I need a hobby, perhaps underwater basket weaving?) I figured I would share some lovely photos.
Actually, they're not all that lovely. I am a horrendous photographer, but still...

Why yes, that is Iron Mike doing the ceremonial puck drop. He got some of the loudest cheers of the night.
This is so hotttt...I do have a picture of me wearing the jersey that Daisy "commandeered" from a child, but it is GODAWFUL so I won't subject ya'll to it. I think I'll leave the jersey story for another day.
GO HAWKS!!!!!!

Just a stranger on the bus...
So, here on Planet DJ, we're (yes, the royal we) not particularly pious. We prefer our Passover seders (if they occur at all) to be in the 10-15 minute range. This year, we will be forgoing the rehashing of plagues & door openings and all the like. I've decided to attend yet another networking event in the blind hopes that this will lead to new employment.
Here is my thought process for doing such (as related to my mother):
"I've decided to attend "blank society's" networking event on April 9. I figure there's no better way to celebrate the lord (jehovah, allah, vishnu-whatever) than to get a new job so I can stop cursing his ass"
Please don't yell at me about god, beliefs or whatever....this is "in my opinion" *shout out to Artful*
